The Great Commandment
Which law is greatest?
asked the one tutored
in structure,
in
the weighing of truths.
He preferred his life mapped out,
always knowing what was best.
He was
respected,
knowing
all the answers.
And so he put the Master to the test
as he might challenge a young boy.
Which law
is greatest?
How
do you perceive the truth?
From the beginning we are enfolded,
we are blanketed in Creator’s love.
How could
we do less
than
enfold God in return?
Incarnation made known in full
as it meets in us each;
our hearts embraced by Creator’s
love;
our love embracing
neighbors’ hearts.
